When to Replace This Bush

  • You can’t remove the old bush from the valve
  • The bush is cracked, worn or damaged
  • You’re replacing the valves and want to be prepared—order bushes in case

You can return unused parts if not needed. There’s one bush per valve, so if you’re replacing both valves, you’ll need two bushes.

FAQ – SP3868 Bush

Q: My installation guide doesn’t mention a bush—how do I know SP3868 is correct?

Older Franke installation guides often didn’t include part numbers for internal components like bushes. If you’re doing the repair yourself, remove your old valve first. If the bush stays in the tap, you likely don’t need a new one. If it comes out with the valve, compare it with the images here and in our Olympus Bush Identification Guide.

If you’re hiring a plumber, we recommend ordering this SP3868 bush just in case—especially for any Olympus tap made from 2010 onwards. In the earliest models, particularly some versions of the Olympus G, a different bush (3886R with lip) was used instead.

Still unsure? Email us a photo of your valve and tap—we’ll confirm the right bush and send you a direct product link.

Q: What does the bush look like when left inside the tap?

Q: Can I reuse my old bush?

Yes—if it’s in good condition and separates cleanly from the valve, it can be reused. But if it’s stuck, damaged, or worn, we recommend replacing it to ensure a proper seal and alignment with the new valve.

Q: Do I need one or two bushes?

Each valve has its own bush. So if you’re replacing both hot and cold valves, you’ll need two bushes.
