FAQ – Kitchen Tap Spout 3987R (SP3987) :
- Is this a Genuine Part? Yes it is.
- Are your spouts brand new or used? All our parts are brand new. Unused. We apply a small discount in case we miss a tiny mark when inspecting before shipping. We explain this in more detail below.
- Is there an O Ring Kit on this Spout? Yes. All our Spouts come complete. This Spout has O Ring Kit 1425R and Aerator 3620R.
- Do you include the grub screw where my spout is held in with a screw? Yes. It is a 2.5mm grub screw but we always recommend retaining your own grub screw when removing. Put a cloth around your tap base to catch your own grub screw in case you need it.
- I can’t locate the grub screw? Feel around the back of your tap with a finger as its a very small hole. Its usually directly at the back of the base of your tap.
- Do you include silicone grease? No because it needs to be applied freshly when installed. You can source this from any Builders Merchant.
- My own Spout has only 3 O Rings, will this Spout fit? Yes, provided that you have the Olympus Filterflow Tap. Please email pictures to us if unsure. An extra small O Ring was added in later years for increased stability. The newer Spout will fit older Tap models once it is the correct model.
DIY Guide to fitting Kitchen Tap Spout :
- Do I need to call in a plumber to do this? Most people find this a very straightforward DIY job. Here is our guide to assist you.
- You might need to apply some pressure to push down the Spout.
- Make sure that the gap in the white ptfe o ring aligns with the grub screw hole when inserting the new spout.

Why Our Genuine Spouts Are Discounted
All our spouts are brand new, genuine parts sourced directly from the original tap manufacturer. We inspect each one carefully before dispatch, and any item with a noticeable mark is sold separately as a ‘second’.
In rare cases, a very small mark — often no larger than a pinhead — may be missed. Rather than raise prices to cover the cost of the occasional return, we apply a small discount to all spouts by default. This ensures you get excellent value while we maintain the high standards we're known for.

- Genuine = Proper fit, tested by the Manufacturer
- Compatible = Not made by your Tap’s brand. May not fit or last.
We’ve seen compatible parts cause leaks or damage. Choosing genuine parts protects your tap and warranty.
