Franke Olympus G Tap O Ring Kit 1425R (SP1425)

Franke Olympus G Close up handle detail – red and blue indicator band on handles
- We include two grub screws because both of these were used in the production of this tap. The two sizes included are a 2mm and a 2.5mm spout grub screw.
- You can buy an allen key pack of both sizes , a 2mm allen key or a 2.5mm allen key here. The Olympus Handle takes a 2mm grub screw.
- Please follow our DIY Guide here when replacing the O Rings.
- Specifically, ONLY replace the rubber rings. There should be no need to replace the large white split ptfe ring unless it is broken.
- Do use plumbers grease or washing up liquid to lubricate.
- The manufacturers added the smaller white ring in later years so if you have an older model you will not have this smaller ring. Just ignore it.
- The Franke Specialist Range Olympus Spring Tap requires a different O Ring Kit.
The video link below shows both the older spout we stock and the current version, along with the 1425R O-Ring Kit. If your spout doesn’t match either of the two shown, we unfortunately do not stock the spout or O-ring kit you require.
If you have an older Tap :
The current Spout 3926R (SP3926) is the improved version of the 3218R. It contains the same O Ring Kit but was modified to include an additional PTFE (Teflon) ring for increased stability. So the upgraded Spout is a little longer but fits the exact same as the older shorter Spout. The base in the older Tap models can perfectly accomodate this longer Spout. This improved design change is coming from your Tap manufacturer.
Check for Pinhole Damage Before Ordering O-Rings
- Always inspect your tap spout for pinhole damage before ordering a new set of O-rings.
- If your spout has a pinhole (see example below), replacing the O-ring kit won't resolve the issue.
- In such cases, you'll need to replace the entire spout.
- Refer to our guide: How to Remove a Kitchen Tap Spout to check for pinholes.
- If you're uncertain about the spout you need, contact us with details of your tap, such as a picture and any brand markings, so we can assist you in finding the correct spout.
Tips When Changing the O-Ring Kit
- Usually, only the black O-rings need replacing unless one of the white O-rings is damaged.
- Some white O-rings have an intentional split for use in spouts with a grub screw; a split does not indicate it's broken.
- Your new O-ring kit may include extra rings not needed for your spout, as some kits were later updated with a smaller ring for added stability.
- Use plumber's grease or washing-up liquid to aid movement, but avoid Vaseline as it can damage the rubber.

FAQ – Kitchen Tap Spout:
- I can’t locate the grub screw? Unless your spout is held in by a locking nut or is extremely old (where spouts were pushed into the tap) it should be there. Feel around the back of your tap with a finger as its a very small hole. Its usually directly at the back of the base of your tap.
- Do you include silicone grease? No we don’t because it needs to be applied freshly when installed. You can source this from any Builders Merchant.
- Do I need to call in a plumber to do this? Most people find this a very straightforward DIY job. Here is our guide “remove tap spout” to assist you.
