Franke Eiger Tap Cartridge

£11£33 incl. VAT

Franke Eiger Tap Cartridge SP3561 (In earlier Installation Guides this part is referred to as 1427R. This is the Same Part. SP stands for Spare Part). The Cold Valve opens Anti-clockwise. The Hot Valve opens Clockwise.

NB Please read below before ordering as there are similar taps out there that look like the Eiger Tap but take completely different parts. Unless you have Franke Documentation / know for certain it is a Franke Tap, please check your own valve before ordering if you want to avoid unncessary returns. Also please look at pictures of Valve shown with and without the Brass Bush attached before purchase.  The Brass Bush is sold as a separate item as it is not always needed.

If your Tap is dripping from the Spout then replacing your Valves (Hot or Cold, or both) should fix this. If your Tap is dripping from the Spout then you might need to change your Valves.  Here is our Guide 7 Easy Steps to replace Kitchen Tap Valve.

If your Franke Eiger Tap is dripping where the Spout meets the Base then changing the Franke Eiger Tap O Ring Kit 2300R should fix this.

If you contact us before buying, we will advise you on the correct part for your Tap.

Description

Franke Eiger Tap Cartridge

Please note that due to the fact that we do not know the age of your Eiger Tap, we will ship the earlier Franke Eiger Tap Cartridge  (Franke Eiger Tap Valve) with white seal underneath as that covers all Eiger taps, old and more recent. More recent Taps have a red / blue seal underneath but are not as effective as a replacement in the older Taps.

  • SP1427R/SP3561 Hot – 133.0194.088
  • SP1427R/SP3561 Cold – 133.0194.089
  • SP3868 Brass Bush – 133.0312.538

Below is example of Valve same as Eiger in a different Tap, but it shows the 28 splines.  This valve has bush around it, 3868R (like the Eiger Tap) so when you remove your own handle, if you have the Franke Eiger Tap, then your valve / bush would look like this below.  There are other ‘lookalike’ taps that take different valves, so unless you are sure that you have a Franke Tap, it is worthwhile removing the handle and checking. The Franke Eiger Handle takes a 2mm allen key to loosen the grub screw (but place towel underneath to catch grub screw because they are so small).

Below is one example of a Tap similar to Eiger. Note the 20 spline valve

Other checks to see if you have Eiger or a lookalike Tap ?  : Your own handle should have C or H etched in the top of the lever (that is not to say that other brands don’t have similar, but if your handle does not have this etching, then it is Not the Eiger).  Check your own handle measurements: – does it conform to the Franke Eiger handle measurements ?  Overall height – 89mm.  Lever  height only – 63mm

NB Please look at pictures of Valve shown with and without the Brass Bush attached before purchase.  The Brass Bush is sold as a separate item as it is not always needed.

Measurements of this 28/8 Valve with thread:

Nut Height: 8, Splines: 28, Overall height: 53mm, Diameter at thread: 21mm.

Useful Tip

It can be a common enough problem that when you remove your  Valve it looks different than the valve in the picture. It is most likely because the brass bush is still attached. See below images showing the Bush as a separate part and also stuck to the valve .

For tips on how to separate a Valve from a Brass Bush, see here.

If the Valve is stuck inside the Brass Bush then you will have to separate them OR buy a Brass Bush

Straight forward replacement of old valve bodies. Note the new parts have an improved end cap at the contact point with tap body. No need to swap the new white caps with old Red/Blue caps. New valves fitted in twenty minutes – job done – problem solved.
Ordered late Saturday afternoon, arrived Mid morning Monday. Best delivery service I’ve had!
