***Please Note: CO = Clockwise to Open a Valve. ACO = Anti-clockwise to open a Valve. If your Hot water side is dripping in your Deco Tap, order a Cold ACO valve. If your Cold side is dripping in your Deco Tap, order a Hot CO Valve. Here is the reason : It might seem counter intuitive but Valves are not ‘hot’ or ‘cold’ they just open ‘clockwise (CO)’ or ‘anti-clockwise (ACO)’. Some manufacturers give a different code for each valve in a tap, but San Marco uses the Same Code for the valve and to differentiate between what way it opens e.g. Clockwise, they put a nick on the side of the nut, and for Anti-clockwise there is NO nick on the side of the nut (as in the San Marco 3561R Valve which has white indicators underneath). However, the Valve that is used in the DECO Tap also has a red indicator underneath for the valve that opens Clockwise and a blue indicator underneath for the Valve that opens Anti-clockwise. In most standard two lever kitchen taps you pull the levers towards you to turn the water ON and push the levers back to turn the water OFF. So, in a standard two lever kitchen tap, when you pull the cold lever towards you to turn the water ON you are effectively turning the Valve Anti-clockwise to open it. If you pull the Hot lever towards you to turn the Hot water ON, you are turning the Valve Clockwise to open. In the Deco Tap, the levers are operated the opposite way and as a result, in the Deco Tap, to turn on the Cold Water you have to open the Valve Clockwise ie a ‘hot’ valve is in the Cold Water side of your tap. If you removed the Valve underneath the Cold side of your Deco Tap you might be surprised to find that it has a red indicator underneath (e.g. a Clockwise ‘hot’ valve, and if you removed the Valve from the Hot water side of your Deco Tap you might be surprised to find that the Valve has a Blue indicator underneath. All you have to remember is that if your Hot water side is dripping you need to order a Valve that turns Anti-clockwise, so please order a ‘cold’ valve. If your Cold water side of your Deco Tap is dripping, then you need to order a Valve that opens ‘Clockwise’ so please order a ‘Hot Valve.’ ***
