Genuine Franke Eiger Tap Cartridge / Valve
- This is the genuine Franke Eiger kitchen tap valve – also referred to as a cartridge.
- Earlier installation guides listed this part as 1427R. It is now known as SP3561. (Note: “Cartridge” is used here for search visibility, but technically this is a valve, which handles a single water feed.)
Valve Specifications:
- Nut Height: 8mm
- Splines: 28
- Overall Height: 53mm
- Diameter at thread: 21mm
Hot Valve: SP1427R / SP3561 – Franke Code: 133.0194.088
Cold Valve: SP1427R / SP3561 – Franke Code: 133.0194.089
Brass Bush (sold separately): SP3868 – Franke Code: 133.0312.538
Why We Supply the 1427R / SP3561 Valve
The 1427R valve (our code: 4276R) is the original valve specified by the manufacturer of the Franke Eiger tap. As this Tap has been in production since 2005, there are many old models that require a new valve. However, this valve—with its thicker base seal—covers all generations of the tap. We use the internal code 4276R to represent the San Marco–stamped 1427R version that we supply.
This valve may have a white or black seal underneath and fits both the hot and cold sides. The hot valve opens clockwise and has notches on the nut. The cold valve opens anticlockwise and has no notches. These physical differences help you identify them. Later versions (3561R/SP3561) may come with red or blue seals but are less reliable across all Eiger generations.
Important Compatibility Note:
There are lookalike taps on the market that resemble the Franke Eiger but take entirely different parts. If you’re unsure about your tap model, please refer to our detailed guide: Is Your Tap a Franke Eiger?. This includes comparisons, measurements, and DIY tips.
Is This the Correct Valve for Your Tap?
- The Franke Eiger valve has 28 splines.
- Check your handle: Franke Eiger Handle is 89mm high, 63mm lever height.
- Remove the handle using a 2mm Allen key to loosen the grub screw.
Do You Need a Brass Bush?
Sometimes the valve and brass bush come out together. The bush (SP3868) surrounds the valve inside the tap body. One bush is used per valve. If you’re removing your valve in advance, check if the bush is still in the tap or stuck to the valve.

FAQ
Q: How can I tell the difference between the hot and cold valve if the seals are black or white?
A: The hot valve opens clockwise and has notches on the nut. The cold valve opens anticlockwise and has no notches. Both are clearly labelled.
Q: How do I know if I have a Franke Eiger tap?
A: If you don’t have the original installation guide, please see our guide: Is Your Tap a Franke Eiger?. It shows how to confirm your model and avoid ordering the wrong part.
Q: Why is the product code 4276R when you mention 1427R?
A: 4276R is our internal code for the genuine 1427R valve stamped San Marco. We use it to help customers identify the correct version that fits all Eiger taps.
Q: Do I need a plumber?
A: Not necessarily. If you’re confident with DIY and have the right tools—2mm Allen key, adjustable spanner, soft cloth, and silicone or plumber’s grease (or washing-up liquid)—you can do it yourself. Never use Vaseline.
Q: How do I know which side is dripping?
A: See our guide: Hot or Cold – Which Valve is Dripping?
Q: I’m getting a plumber, but unsure which valve I need?
A: You can order a pair of valves and two bushes. The plumber will have everything they need, and you can return unused parts.
Q: I don’t know what’s causing the drip—valve or something else?
A: Refer to our Eiger Troubleshooting Guide. It explains common causes and links to all relevant spare parts.
