Note:  At the end of this blog are links to all the Spare Parts referred to throughout the Blog for ease of reviewing / purchasing.

Here are the 3 main causes as to why your Franke Ascona Tap dripping :

1. Franke Ascona Tap dripping from the Spout

If your Franke Ascona Tap is dripping from the spout then it is most likely that you need to change the valves (one or both).

2. Franke Ascona Tap dripping where Spout meets Base

If your Franke Ascona Tap is dripping where the spout meets the base then it is most likely that you need to replace the O Rings.

3. Franke Ascona Tap leaking from the handle:

The valve may need tightening or replacing. Here is our Guide How to remove the Handle on your Kitchen Tap.

If you have replaced the valve just remember that new valves can take a few days for the rubber washer to “be bed down”. Tighten the valve and if leak continues after tightening please contact us on This blog here would also be useful to read in advance of fitting the new Valve if you are not a plumber as it covers some of the trouble shooting tips: My new Valve is leaking

Valve Details:

Please note when buying the Valves that the Hot and Cold valves are NOT interchangeable.

Valve 3308R

Valve SP3308 (also known as 3308R) – Has two flat sides on the nut.

Please Note: Some customers find it difficult to remove the earlier SP3308 Valve (133.0150.219 Cold /130.0120.220 Hot) which has 2 flat sides on the nut.  You can try a mechanics long socket and ratchet tool to remove the Valve from this Tap OR We have a specially designed SP3308 Valve Removal Tool from the Franke Ascona Manufacturer to remove it here.

This Franke Tap Valve has been discontinued but the new SP3794 is the replacement
133.0358.053 Hot valve SP3794-H
133.0358.055 Cold valve SP3794-C
Height 38mm
Diameter at thread: 20mm,

3794R Hot

SP3794 Mini Valve, Hot shown here (which has a 6 sided nut, unlike the earlier valve SP3308, that had two flat sides on the nut).

The newer version of this valve has 6 sides on the nut so is easier to deal with ( a 14 size hex key will fit)
This is a change by the manufacturer of the Franke Ascona Tap.

Whichever Franke Ascona Valve is in your own tap, you will receive the SP3794.

No Brass Bush is required with the Franke Ascona Tap Valve.

The Hot and Cold Valve are not interchangeable as the Hot opens clockwise and the Cold opens anti-clockwise.
Replace if your Tap is dripping from the Spout. Here is our Guide: 7 easy steps to replace Kitchen Tap Valve.
