Genuine Howdens Hi-Tech Tap3497 Valve – Read Before Ordering

The Howdens Hi-Tech Tap3497 looks very similar to other Lamona taps. However, it uses a 28-spline valve — not 20 or 24 like other models.

This model features a wing-shaped handle. If you’re sure it’s the Hi-Tech (based on documentation or our confirmation), you’re in the right place. If not, email us a photo before ordering. Even small differences can mean a different valve.

Why are there two valves listed? In 2014, the manufacturer changed the original valve design. Use this guide:

• Stamped 2014 or earlier: Order the 4276R valve. It’s the only one that fits and seals properly.
• Stamped 2015 or later: You can choose either the 4276R or 3547R.

Can’t find a date stamp? Order the 4276R. It works in all Hi-Tech taps and includes a thicker white seal that compresses with use.

Do I need a bush? The 3408R brass bush often comes out with the old valve. If you’re replacing a valve — especially if a plumber is involved — we recommend adding a bush just in case. You can return it if unused.
